Here’s what to expect from the beta.
What is RateMyApp?
RateMyApp is a website for exchanging genuine private app feedback between developers. Publish a testing brief, test another developer’s app and earn credits for approved private feedback. Use those credits to fund testing for your own app. Testers can also leave optional community star ratings on RateMyApp.
Can I find both iOS and Android beta testers?
Supported links include the App Store, TestFlight and Google Play. Testers can filter by platform and read the brief. Link support does not certify a reward arrangement: Apple's TestFlight distribution rules include a compensation restriction.
How do testing credits work?
New beta accounts receive 60 welcome credits after email verification when required. Accepting a test reserves 30 credits from the app owner. Approval transfers those credits to the tester; cancellation or expiry returns the reservation.
Are public app reviews required?
No. Approved private testing feedback earns 30 credits even when the tester leaves no public store review or community rating. Public store ratings and reviews are independent and never a condition for earning credits.
How do community star ratings work?
After submitting a testing report, a tester can leave an optional one-to-five-star rating and comment on RateMyApp. The score does not change the credit reward and remains visible if the app owner rejects the report. Community ratings are separate from App Store and Google Play ratings.
What are testing circles?
Circles are small groups of up to six developers with a shared platform. A circle starts when its places fill. Members can discover each other’s briefs, but completing a circle does not guarantee store approval or a particular number of reviews.
Can screenshots prove that an app was tested?
Screenshots support a report, but do not prove continued use or identify every problem. Owners assess screenshots together with device details, observations and reproduction steps.
Can I buy testing credits?
Yes. One-time USD packs are 30 credits for $0.59 (≈ $0.0197 per credit), 150 credits for $1.99 (≈ $0.0133 per credit), 600 credits for $7.49 (≈ $0.0125 per credit), 1,500 credits for $17.99 (≈ $0.0120 per credit). Larger purchases lower the price per credit. Applicable taxes are shown at checkout. Credits arrive after payment confirmation. You can also earn credits through approved testing feedback.
Will RateMyApp guarantee Google Play production access?
No. Google evaluates your test and production-access application. RateMyApp can help you organize feedback; opt-in duration, participation and the answers you submit remain your responsibility.
Can I earn credits by inviting developers?
Yes. Verified members have a personal link in Invite & earn. You receive 30 credits when an invited new developer verifies their email, plus 20% of the credits they buy on each confirmed purchase. Purchase bonuses round down to whole credits and are reversed proportionally for refunds. Self-referrals and duplicate accounts are not eligible. Credits cannot be withdrawn as cash, and rewards never depend on public store reviews or positive ratings.
