Map the condition to the benefit
Write the full offer in one sentence: the user gets a benefit after doing a specific action. If that action is publishing a store review, the incentive is attached to a public opinion. If the action is completing a private usability task, the deliverable is research. Avoid a second condition hidden in instructions, such as asking for a store screenshot after the tester has submitted their report.
Remove the requested sentiment
A requirement to give five stars is plainly different from an invitation to share an opinion. Even softer wording can imply a favorable sentiment, such as asking users to explain how much they loved the product before receiving a reward. Removing that condition does not by itself settle platform compliance. Keep the supported store request voluntary and separate from compensation.
Make private feedback approval neutral
For paid research, define completion by an attempted task, device context and usable observations. Let a tester document an inability to proceed. Owners should not reject an informative report merely because it criticizes the app. On RateMyApp, optional community ratings do not alter the credit reward. Public store ratings and reviews are not required or rewarded by the testing brief.
Working example
Compare two offers. ‘Get premium access after posting a five-star review’ ties a benefit to praise. ‘Receive the research fee after documenting your onboarding attempt, including problems’ pays for private work. Do not add ‘and help us with a store review’ to the second offer. Keep the research acceptance criteria written and consistent.
